The Fogheracce of Rimini

Comune di Rimini

Events may be subject to change, always contact organizers before going to the venue.

On the occasion of St Joseph's Day, Rimini lights up with the traditional Fogheracce, the large bonfires on the beach that bid farewell to winter and welcome spring.

An ancient ritual, full of meaning, that still unites communities, families and children around the fire. Just as old objects were once burnt to leave behind the cold and hardships of the past season, so the fogheracce become a symbol of renewal and a good omen for the months to come.

The celebrations will involve different areas of the city:
- Torre Pedrera - Lavatoio area
- San Giuliano Mare - Lido San Giuliano beach
- Viserbella - area of the greenhouses, with music and the possibility of dining together
- Marina Centro - canal port area, with a market on the seafront from late afternoon and lighting of the bonfire in the evening
- Viserba - beach, with music and food stands

Each district will have its own festival, but the spirit will be the same: gathering together in front of the fire, with entertainment, markets, music, and moments dedicated to children, the real protagonists of the evening.

In the event of bad weather, some events may be postponed until Saturday 21 March.
