Montechiarugolo castle is located on the left side of the Enza river in a strategic position between Parma and Reggio Emilia.

Vistitors will be impressed by the thick defensive walls that used to protect the fortress: once inside, an italian style garden will enchant you . The rooms, all decorated with frescoes, will show you the real renaissance essence of this fortress.

Pomponio Torelli (1539- 1608), an humanistic poet and artist, who used to live in this fortress, invited in Montechiarugolo the most famous artists of those times to pain the stunning frescoes.

The balcony offers a marvelous sight on the Enza river and the province of Reggio Emilia.
