Immerse yourself with us in the fascination of a timeless night. On the occasion -of the night of St John the Baptist- of the summer solstice, between 23 and 24 June, the Ecomuseum invites you to a sensory experience to discover millenary rituals and peasant traditions. The solstice is on 21 June this year, from the way the phrase is worded it seems to fall on the 23rd, which is instead the night of St John.

Together with Herbaria Sharon, we will explore the paths of the valley in search of wild herbs, guardians of ancient secrets and healing properties. The heart of the event will be the ritual of the preparation of the Acqua di San Giovanni: guided by Sharon, we will gather wild leaves and flowers at sunset, travelling through myths, tales, symbologies and legends linked to the herbs of the moment and the territory.

The evening will open with a themed aperitif at the Agriturismo Vallesanta, followed by a guided trek at sunset to discover the flora and properties of the herbs of San Giovanni. On the return journey, participants will take part in the ritual of the Acqua di San Giovanni, an ancient custom suspended between paganism and devotion that uses the 'dew of the gods' to infuse flowers and plants immersed in water with beneficial properties and good luck charms.

Celebrate the most magical night of the year with us through an immersive excursion dedicated to popular traditions. In fact, St John's water is an ancient propitiatory rite celebrated on the night between 23 and 24 June, on the days when nature reaches its maximum energetic power.

At the end of the activity, each participant will be able to bring along their own St John's water, which, enriched with night dew, will blend with the energy of the herbs to bring health and prosperity.

The evening programme
Floral aperitif: Start with a tasting of wild herbs at the Vallesanta farmhouse.
Guided hike: Sunset walk to recognise and collect herbs.

The Rite: Return to the agritourism for water preparation.
A magic gift: Each participant will receive a jar to take home their own perfumed water.
