Every Wednesday evening in June, the historic centre of Santarcangelo di Romagna is transformed into an open-air stage with the return of the Itinerant Medieval Tour, the theatrical guided tour combining history, entertainment and legend.

The 2026 edition, entitled "Uomini et donne d'arme" (Men and Women in Arms), takes the public on a fascinating journey back to the Middle Ages through the town's alleyways, squares, and underground caves, where historical characters and legendary tales linked to Romagna come to life.

Among the protagonists of the narration are Malatesta da Verucchio, Matilde di Canossa and Federico da Montefeltro, together with stories of battles, intrigues, loves and legendary creatures.

The show, proposed by the Pro Loco Santarcangelo di Romagna together with the Il Pozzo dei Desideri theatre company and the San Michele historical re-enactment company, involves over 30 actors, musicians, and costumed figurants, directed by director Luca Petrolo.

The route goes up to the top of Colle Giove and also crosses the suggestive town caves, places full of mystery and charm that will make the experience even more immersive.

The tour will be staged every Wednesday evening in June - on 3, 10, 17, and 24 June 2026 - starting from the Pro Loco Santarcangelo di Romagna in Via Battisti 5.

The experience, lasting about two hours, will end with a final tasting. Participation costs €20 per person, while it is free for children up to the age of 10.
