Emilia Romagna Castles

The portrait of the Corian motorcycling champion, Marco Simoncelli, from Saturday 21 September will stand in a totem pole, about 5 metres high, placed in the centre of the Via Marano roundabout at the junction with Via Saragat, the main gateway to the town.
The work depicts the champion in four different images, while the roundabout has been designed with the SIC's identifying graphics and colours. The work is the brainchild of two-time Compasso d'Oro designer Aldo Drudi, and the inauguration ceremony will take place on Saturday 21 September at 7 p.m. in the presence of Mayor Gianluca Ugolini, the Municipal Council, Paolo Simoncelli and the Sic58 Squadra Corse, the designer of the work and the President of the Italian Motorcycle Federation, Giovanni Copioli. The event is included in the calendar of the Emilia Romagna MotoGP Grand Prix, scheduled at Misano World Circuit from 20 to 22 September.
