Luoghi dell'Anima Italian Film Festival is an event inaugurated on the occasion of the centenary of the birth of the poet, writer and screenwriter Tonino Guerra, which aims to valorise cinematographic works in which the setting is the protagonist, in the osmosis between territory, memory, imagination and storytelling.

This fifth edition will be held from 10 to 15 December in Santarcangelo di Romagna, Rimini and Pennabilli.

There will be two unmissable appointments before the official opening of the Festival on 10 December.

On 25-26-27 November in Santarcangelo di Romagna, the Special Event Fiore mio, the first film written, directed and interpreted by Paolo Cognetti, in collaboration with C'ENTRO Supercinema and Santarcangelo dei Teatri, three days of previews, waiting for the inauguration of the fifth edition, once again in the name of Tonino Guerra.

After this first event in Santarcangelo, the Festival's pre-opening will see a tribute to Andrea Purgatori - to whom this 5th edition is dedicated - in the special evening on 9 December that will remember him between cinema and investigative journalism at the Cinema Fulgor Rimini.

It will continue with the inauguration of the Festival on 10 December, the day on which the activities in the three cities involved will begin.

A few previews of the programme, which in Santarcangelo will include the presentation of Marco Tullio Giordana's LA VITA ACCANTO (The Life Next Door), which won the prize for direction, and a series of films preceded by meetings with the author, including Francesca Comencini's Il TEMPO CHE CI VUOLE, screenplay award, PALAZZINA LAF by Michele Riondino, cinema and TV award, LA VALANGA AZZURRA by Giovanni Veronesi, Luoghi dell'Anima award, and UN MONDO A PARTE by Riccardo Milani, Luoghi dell'Anima award.

The films in competition, which will soon be announced together with the composition of the juries, will have their presentation in Rimini.

In Pennabilli, at the Tonino Guerra Museum, Riflessi - shorts in competition will be presented, with the selection curated by the Artistic Direction of Luoghi dell'Anima in collaboration with the Ferrara Film Corto Festival "Ambiente è Musica" and the Short film on tour, which includes the selection of the 5 short film finalists of the European Film Academy for 2024. These contents will also be screened in Santarcangelo di Romagna and Rimini.

Luoghi dell'Anima (Places of the Soul) represents a journey into "slow living", without forgetting the author's look at current events entrusted to the competition of debut works, documentaries and short films in the exhibition. Choices and contents in synergy with Tonino Guerra's poetics and message, also through the Association dedicated to him, which makes an operational contribution to the Festival through the collaboration of Laura Delli Colli, its scientific committee.
