A film that tells the extraordinary story of Barbe-Nicole Ponsardin, better known as Madame Clicquot, one of the first successful entrepreneurs in the world of wine. Directed by Thomas Napper with Haley Bennett in the leading role, the film is a journey through the challenges and triumphs of a woman who revolutionised the champagne industry.

Saturday 9 August THE MASTER WHO PROMISED THE SEA
A film based on the true story of master Antoni Benaiges. In 1935, Benaiges, a teacher in a remote village in the province of Burgos, Spain, promised his pupils to take them to see the sea, an experience that would change their lives. Using innovative educational methods inspired by the French pedagogist Célestin Freinet, the teacher challenged the conventions of the time, attracting the hostility of the Franco regime, the Church and some parents.
Through the memory of those who knew him and 75 years after his death, the niece of one of his pupils has reconstructed the story in all its beauty and drama. A tale of hope, courage and resistance, hidden for too long by the shadows of the Spanish Civil War.
