A special tribute to Ferrara's 30 years as a UNESCO World Heritage Site

On Tuesday, December 9, 2025, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Ferrara's recognition by UNESCO as a City of the Renaissance and its Po Delta, the city will celebrate its cultural heritage with a fascinating event.

At 6:00 p.m., from the balcony of the Sala dell'Arengo in the Ducal Palace, overlooking Piazza della Cattedrale, Luca Ward will give voice to Ludovico Ariosto, interpreting a passage from Orlando Furioso.
The reading will be accompanied by music that will amplify the intensity of the moment, transforming the square into a space suspended between history, poetry, and evocative sound.

A beloved actor and voice actor, Ward is famous for his iconic voice, which has accompanied performers such as Russell Crowe in Gladiator, Keanu Reeves, Pierce Brosnan, and Samuel L. Jackson. His presence in Ferrara is an ideal tribute to the Renaissance spirit of the city and its literary roots.

The homage to Ariosto continues in Via Mazzini, where a light installation dedicated to Orlando Furioso illuminates the path with verses suspended between the buildings, transforming one of Ferrara's most beloved streets into a poetic itinerary of light, identity, and memory.
