There is a place in Verucchio where, every summer, music meets the beauty of the village.

It is the churchyard of the Collegiate Church, an intimate space which, as evening falls, becomes the stage for the Verucchio Festival, one of the most eagerly awaited cultural events of the summer on the Rimini Riviera.

From 23 to 25 July, the Festival returns with three evenings dedicated to Italian singer-songwriter music, featuring artists who capture the spirit of the present through diverse styles, sounds and sensibilities.

Opening the festival on Thursday 23 July will be Giovanni Truppi with ‘La lunga fiaba di sabbia’ (The Long Fairy Tale of Sand), a project that weaves together music, literature and travel, creating a dialogue between two key figures of 20th-century Italy: Pier Paolo Pasolini and Italo Calvino. The concert will be preceded by the young singer-songwriter Simone Matteuzzi, one of the most interesting emerging voices on the new Italian music scene.

Friday 24 July will see Cristina Donà take to the stage, an artist who for over twenty years has been one of the most original figures in Italian music. On the stage in Verucchio, she will give a preview of some tracks from her new album, due for release this autumn.

Closing the Festival on Saturday 25 July will be Pacifico, accompanied on the piano by Carlo Gaudiello, with “Collezioni”: an unpretentious and captivating show in which voice and piano alternate between stories, songs and melodies in an intimate dialogue with the audience.

All events will take place in the churchyard of the Collegiate Church, starting at 9.00 pm. Admission is free, subject to availability.

The Verucchio Festival thus continues to offer a special opportunity to experience the village in one of its most evocative atmospheres, where music becomes an integral part of the landscape and the summer evenings of the Rimini Riviera.
