Emilia Romagna Castles

The eleventh edition of the Cantiere Poetico per Santarcangelo brings to town a week entirely dedicated to poetry, with performances, meetings, workshops, exhibitions, screenings, and collective readings.
This year's theme, "Poetry that begins again", invites people to rediscover poetry as a vital force that flourishes again in the streets, in everyday gestures, and in relationships between people.

PROGRAMME:
Sunday 19 October
- 5 p.m. - Palazzo della Poesia: Screening of the animated film La voce delle sirene (The voice of the sirens) by Gianluigi Toccafondo (screened every day until 26 October, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. - 6 p.m.).
- 6 p.m. - Palazzo della Poesia: Inauguration of the exhibition Per una poetica del creato curated by Marcello Chiarenza (open until 26 October at the same times). Followed by a meeting with the author La rappresentazione simbolica nella mia esperienza tra arte figurativa e drammaturgia. To close: aperitif offered by Città Viva.

Tuesday 21st October
- 6pm - Biblioteca Baldini: Presentation of the book Santarcangelo della poesia by Rita Giannini, with Gianfranco Lauretano and readings by Nicoletta Fabbri.
- 9pm - C'Entro Supercinema: La poetica nel sacro meeting with Cardinal Matteo Maria Zuppi in dialogue with Gigi Riva.

Wednesday 22 October
- 6pm - Baldini Library: Presentation of the book Ogni volta che ti vedo fiorire by Alberto Casiraghy, readings by Gilberta Crispino and Donatella Massimilla.
- 9.30pm - Teatro Il Lavatoio: National premiere of L'ultimo rigore di Faruk by Teatro Caverna, with Damiano Grasselli. Followed by a meeting entitled I teatri di guerra (Theatres of war) by Gigi Riva.

Thursday 23rd October
- 6pm - Biblioteca Baldini: Cir-conference on Aldo Capitini Poeta della pace, organised by Piergiorgio Giacchè with Michele Bandini, Danio Manfredini, Ermanna Montanari, Maria Grazia Mandruzzato, Silvia Pasello, Ares Tavolazzi, Ghedalia Tazartes.
- 9.30 p.m. - Teatro Il Lavatoio: Teatro Valdoca's show Ruvido umano, with Mariangela Gualtieri, Lemmo and his sound universe.

Friday 24 October
- 10 a.m. - Streets of the city centre: Poetic diffusion Their cry is my voice. Poems from Gaza, collective readings by Palestinian authors.
- 4pm - Baldini Library: Presentation of the book Album per pensare e non pensare by Mariangela Gualtieri.
- 6pm - Baldini Library: Presentation of the book Bambino by Marco Balzano.
- 9.30pm - Teatro Il Lavatoio: Desiderata. Parole da pronunciare ad alta voce (Words to be spoken aloud), a poetic meeting of the new generations curated by Isadora Angelini and Luca Serrani.

Saturday 25 October
- 10.30am - Biblioteca Baldini: Seminar-workshop Seminare... rigenerare organised by RiD - Associazione Rimediare in Dialogo.
- 4pm - Baldini Library: Presentations of Taccuino delle molte me by Simona Garbarino and C'è urgenza d'azzurro by Vasco Mirandola.
- 6pm - Biblioteca Baldini: Presentation of Costellazione parallela by Isabella Leardini, dedicated to 20th century Italian women poets.
- 9.30 p.m. - Teatro Il Lavatoio: Show Twelve rooms for Elsa Morante by Alchemico Tre, with Michele Di Giacomo, dramaturgy by Tatjana Motta.

Sunday 26 October
- 11 am - Mutonia (Mutoid Waste Company): Collective reading We are the river. A Ritual of Sound for the Marecchia River.
- 3.30 pm - Baldini Library: Presentation of the book I giorni di vetro (Glass Days) by Nicoletta Verna.
- 5.30pm - C'Entro Supercinema: Screening of the documentary Dom by Massimiliano Battistella with Mirela Hodo.
- 9.30 p.m. - C'Entro Supercinema: Meeting Poetry at war with Giovanna Botteri, Marino Sinibaldi and Adriano Sofri.


The Cantiere Poetico 2025 also includes activities of the project "STUPENDI. Selvatici Sapienti', designed for the younger generations:
- At Santarcangelo Primary School, creative and poetic workshops by Cristiano Sormani Valli, Simona Astolfi and Mariangela Gualtieri.
- At the Secondary School, a storytelling workshop with Lorenza Ghinelli and Silvia Bottani.
