On Christmas Day, Thursday 25 December, Riccione will treat its guests to an unmissable concert in Piazzale Ceccarini. At 5 p.m., the extraordinary Michael Mwenso & The Shakes will take the stage with their show 'A Soulful Christmas'.

Michael Mwenso, vocalist and bandleader, is a creative artist and Emmy award-winning cultural curator. His unique artistic perspective stems from a journey that has taken him from his roots in West Africa to London - where he found solace in black music - to New York City, where the celebrated Wynton Marsalis wanted him at Jazz at Lincoln Center. Mwenso has created a musical community through his band, The Shakes, the vehicle of "love and expression" that spreads a message of music to uplift, heal and empower.

In this Christmas special, Mwenso and his excellent New York musicians and vocalists offer a vibrant and rocking mix of holiday classics. The show 'A Soulful Christmas' will feature exciting new arrangements spanning jazz, blues, soul and funk, providing a harmonious and energetic celebration that makes for a more cosmopolitan alternative to the traditional Christmas. Admission to the show is free.
