Riccione is preparing to become the gourmet capital of street food: from 30 April to 3 May, Piazzale Roma will host the 23rd stage of International Street Food, Italy's largest travelling festival dedicated to street food.
For four days, you can immerse yourself in a journey through national and international flavours thanks to dozens of food trucks and selected stands from all over Italy and abroad. The inauguration is scheduled for Thursday 30 April at 6 p.m. with the stands open until midnight; on Friday 1, Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 May, the stands will be open from 12 noon to midnight.
The festival, organised by Alfredo Orofino, president of Airs, the Italian Association of Street Food Restaurants, celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, confirming itself as one of the most eagerly awaited events for street food enthusiasts.
During the Riccione stage, the public will be the protagonist of an authentic journey through the flavours of international street food, thanks to an extraordinary presence of no less than twenty trucks, ready to offer a rich, varied and highly attractive gastronomic experience. A true festival of taste, where each stand represents a different stage: from paella to Angus hamburgers, from puccia pontina to pulled pork, passing through pugliese bombetta, Calabrian cuisine and the ever-present arrosticini. There will also be more mouth-watering and international offerings such as churros, Argentinian specialities, Hungarian kürt?s and fried fish. Among the excellences will be Porcobrado, awarded as the best sandwich in Europe at the European Street Food Awards in 2017 and 2022 and recognised by Gambero Rosso as the champion of Lombardy.
Accompanying the gastronomic proposals is a selection of Italian and foreign craft beers.
Not only food: the Riccione stage will also be the protagonist of the new season of the docu-series 'Il Trono del gusto' (The Throne of Taste), on air on Rai 2 in June 2026. The programme will report closely on the world of Italian street food, highlighting the stories, passion and creativity of food truckers, with the support of Alfredo Orofino as the audience's guide through the behind-the-scenes and emotions of the event.
