From 26 July to 3 August, Piazzale Ceccarini hosts eight free concerts dedicated to jazz, with Italian and international guests.
The event debuts on 26 July with the extraordinary concert by Billy Cobham Quintet. Recognised as the most important jazz-fusion drummer for his power and percussive technique, Cobham reached the peak of his fame in the mid-1970s, becoming one of the most acclaimed drummers in jazz, fusion and rock.
On 27 July, the festival hosts Patagarri: the date will be the only date of the festival to be held on the Olivetani Park stage (admission fee).
On 28 July, the Myo Orchestra brings to the stage the young talents and musicians of the Mondaino Youth Orchestra together with Stefano Bedetti and Nico Gori. With two ensembles - under and over 18 - Myo is a true forge of talent and a symbol of excellence in the area.
Francesca Tandoi, one of the most appreciated jazz pianists on the international scene, will take the stage in a trio in Piazzale Ceccarini on 29 July. With her talent and original approach to the piano, Francesca Tandoi has conquered audiences around the world.
The next day, 30 July, the stars of the evening will be Paolo Fresu & Omar Sosa, performers of an extraordinary concert celebrating the partnership between the Sardinian trumpeter and the Cuban pianist.
The busy programme continues on 31 July with two protagonists of the Italian musical and cultural scene: Andrea Mingardi in dialogue with Marino Bartoletti.
The great French musician and composer Michel Godard will take the stage on 1 August together with Tino Tracanna and Francesco D'Auria. Godard, an interpreter of classical music and jazz, is one of the very few tuba soloists and probably the only soloist on the serpentone, the tuba's ancestor instrument that has never had a solo repertoire.
On 2 August, Riccione will host the internationally renowned trumpet player Hermon Mehari, while on 3 August, one of Italy's most acclaimed saxophonists, Stefano Di Battista, a leading name in European and world jazz, will close the event.
